Our customer is seeking an Assembly Technician. This position is different from standard assemblers because this position will be for building robots.  The robots are a production oriented product as opposed to automation products which is purely custom.  Additionally, there isn’ t a wiring requirement on the robots because they’ re all wiring harness connections pre-built. 

The expectation of the candidate will be detail oriented and have experience building large machines.  There is precise alignment of bearings required and there will be a requirement to operate cranes and forklifts.  We also will need this person to run the tests on the robots which is a variety of equipment  specific for the product and some standard meters as well. 

  • Assemble, modify or configure standard robots to customer specifications.
  • Detail oriented person working with minimal mistakes due to the nature of the product.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to work unsupervised. 
  • Ability to interpret mechanical engineered drawings.
  • Ability to interpret electrical engineered drawings/schematics. 
  • Ability to be flexible in job requirements, willingness to learn and develop skills.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift 70lbs or more on regular basis.
  • Required to operate forklift and small cranes.
  • Required to build crates and skids for shipping our products.

Assemble/Build Robots:
  • Follow assembly procedures using a variety of hand tools, power tools and special set up tools.   
  • Utilize lifting equipment to build and set up testing activities (cranes/forklifts). 
  • Follow testing procedures to execute static and dynamic tests for ensuring quality prior to shipping. 
  • Prepare and package equipment for shipping or storage.

Modify/Configure Stock Robots:
  • Modify pneumatic circuits, wrist options and software per customer specifications and supplied drawings. 
  • Modify take-out direction per customer specifications. 
  • Rigging robots on stands for testing. 
  • Prepare and package equipment for shipping.

  • Required to communicate and interact professionally with colleagues. 
  • Required to cross-train in order to support the custom automation product line during peak times. 
  • Required to exercise safety measures continuously to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Required to maintain a clean work environment by keeping the area clean.
