In addition to CNC Mill/Lathe machine set up and operation, the Advanced CNC Machinist/Team Leader will provide daily work direction to production machinists running a variety of precision aerospace components.

We are seeking a CNC Mill Specific Operator. Fanuc and Siemens controller interface are the standard interface program we run. You will be working primarily on  Aluminum and Steel, with up to a 5 Axis on the Advance.

Employee will be responsible for safety, quality, delivery and cost in his department. They will be required to work closely with members of Production, Programming, Quality, and Engineering teams.

The role is ideal for an advanced machinist who can demonstrate immediate proficiency, and looking to gain leadership experience. Machinist/Team Leader will be responsible for assuring team’ s 100% adherence to  safety and quality policies at all times.  

Additional Role Information:
  • Supports CNC Mill, Lathe, Mill Turn, Gun Drill, Hone operations, Siemens and Fanuc controller interface, 5 Axis experience required.
  • Experience on a variety of machines, controller configurations, and setups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates leadership and daily direction to shop floor team.
  • Ability to work consistent overtime, including alternate shifts and weekends for customer deadlines.
  • Assists scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Cross trains hourly employees to continually meet the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for employee Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Leads “ Lean” & continuous improvement activities in department.
  • Work seamlessly with programming and engineering contacts to provide support for associates.
  • Performs operation of CNC & conventional machines.
  • 100% compliance to all Quality policies for product safety.
  • Completes Cross-Training on various machines and setups as assigned.
  • Basic setup loading work pieces with crane, fixturing to machine table.
  • Monitor tool wear and replace cutters as required.
  • Leads daily “ 5S” rotations and maintaining clean work area.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Proficient in use of precision measurement equipment for indexing and in-process inspections.
  • Responsible for performing general preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Chip removal, maintaining coolant/oil levels, inspections, etc.
  • General shop labor, including but not limited to:  
  • Deburring, polishing, cleaning, part washing, identifying, material handling, general maintenance, etc.
  • Verifies conformance to part drawings and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Ensures all shop routing and documentation is filled out accurate and complete.
  • Performs occasional support tasks and administrative duties.
  • Uses overhead cranes, and pallet jack to move materials as required.
  • Respectful of all employees and contributes to teamwork in department.
  • Performs other duties and supports other shop areas when assigned.

  • CNC Certificate/Certification required.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus 10+ years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
  • Proficiency with advanced shop math, as it relates to part dimensions and machine tool operation.
