Operates a variety of CNC and conventional machines for production of precision aerospace components. Follows work instructions to perform basic setups under general supervision. Work closely with members of Production, Programming, Quality, and Engineering teams.  Actively participate in cross-training and “ Continuous Improvement” activities. Performs all work with 100% adherence to safety and quality policies.

Additional Role Information:

Seeking CNC Mill Specific Operator, Fanuc and Siemens controller interface. Ability to cross train on variety of machines, controller configurations and setups.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operation of CNC & Conventional Machines.
  • 100% compliance to all Quality policies for product safety.
  • Completes Cross-Training on various machines and setups as assigned.
  • Ability to work overtime as required, including alternate shifts and weekends.
  • Basic setup loading work pieces with crane into jigs and fixtures.
  • Monitor tool wear and replace cutters as required.
  • Responsible for daily “ 5S” rotations and maintaining clean work area.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Proficient in use of precision measurement equipment for indexing and in-process inspections.
  • Responsible for performing general preventive maintenance tasks:
  • Chip removal, maintaining coolant/oil levels, inspections, etc.
  • General shop labor, including but not limited to:  
  • Deburring, polishing, cleaning, part washing, identifying, material handling, general maintenance, etc.
  • Verifies conformance to part drawings and manufacturing work instructions
  • Ensures all shop routing and documentation is filled out accurate and complete
  • Performs occasional support tasks and administrative duties
  • Uses overhead cranes, and pallet jack to move materials as required
  • Respectful of all employees and contributes to teamwork in department
  • Performs other duties and supports other shop areas when assigned

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus 2+ years manufacturing experience in aerospace manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to Read, Write, and communicate effectively in English required.
  • Proficiency with basic shop math, as it relates to part dimension and machine tool operation.
