CNC Machinist - Lathe & Mill
My client specializes in Precision machining for the Aerospace Industry.
You will be responsible for doing the Set-up and operation of CNC machines.
This includes: cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and non-metallic workpieces. Position utilizes knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability or materials, shop math, and offsets and editing of programs.
Required: Edit initial program and adjust set-up for first-article acceptance.
Interpret drawings, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, set-up procedures, control settings, and operation sequence.
Identify problems for supervisor.
Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces.
Select and install cutting tools.
Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to workpiece and regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.
Start machine and monitor display and machine operation to detect malfunctions.
Stop machine to change cutting tools or measure parts.
Enter commands to offset and adjust machine controls.
Operate machine manually when required.
Clean machine, tooling and parts.
Perform machine maintenance.
