Supervise and coordinate production activities and assist in production when necessary, other duties may be assigned.

Duties:
  • Safety: Perform pre-operational checks. 
  • Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment. 
  • Responsible to continually evaluate facility equipment for safe operation and compliance. 
  • Production:  Study production schedule and estimate work hour requirements.  Coach and facilitate shop employees to meet expected machine output targets.
  • Quality:  Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. 
  • Adhere to processing specifications required by the customers.
  • Delivery:  Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules to customers’ requirements on delivery.
  • Cost:  Track spending in all shop accounts and measure/manage spending against established budgets/targets on a monthly basis.
  • Inventory: Analyze workload, sequence of operations and product flow through the plant to minimize the amount of time customer parts are in plant. 
  • Measure/manage plant MRO materials and shop supplies against established inventory levels/targets on a monthly basis.
  • Train:  Observe and ask workers questions pertaining to job functions, train workers on quality policy, safe machine operations, OSHA requirements, etc.
  • Lean: Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties
  • TPM: Perform daily required TPM on equipment.
  • Housekeeping / 5S: Perform daily required housekeeping/5S activities for work area.
  • Metrics: Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting.
  • Data: Accurate and timely recording or required data (i.e. Production, quality, labor hours, overtime hours, etc).
  • Set-up and operate machines when necessary.
  • Supervise Foreman and/or Lead Person.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum 2-year technical Associates Degree from accredited educational institution. 
  • A 4-year technical degree is preferred.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer production concerns and associate issues.
  • English spoken as primary language, bilingual skills helpful but not necessary.
