Under the direction of the Regional Sales Manager, the incumbent is responsible for direct sales and promotion of all new Company products in the assigned territory.

Core Functions/Duties:
  • Directly sells products in the assigned territory.
  • Supports existing customer base as required.
  • Re-establishes contact and builds relationships with legacy customers.
  • Identifies strategic target accounts that aligns with current product strategy (high performance and technology).
  • Assists customers in choosing the proper size and model of injection molding machine equipment for their needs.
  • Serves as liason between customers and the inside support team as required.
  • Collaborates with inside sales team to develop proposals for potential orders.
  • Negotiates price and order details with prospective customers.
  • Assists inside support teams with order clean-up details (PO, DP, shipping info, etc).
  • Maintains constant communication (email, phone, visits) with existing and prospective accounts in the territory.
  • Holds regular meetings with key accounts and prospects within the territory. Learns of the customers’ needs and educates them about Company products.
  • Maintains consistent reporting of all relevant sales and travel activities and transactions.
  • Attends meetings and training events at tech centers as required.
  • Attends relevant customer mold trials as required at the Strongsville, OH tech center.
  • Attends sales meetings, open houses, and other training events at North American tech centers (Norcross, GA and Strongsville, OH) as required approximately quarterly.
  • Participates in local trade shows, seminars, industry groups, and promotional events relevant to the plastics industry.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience selling injection molding machines or 10 years selling other products or services to injection molding companies in the assigned territory.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Associates degree in engineering or business.

  • Ability to understand and present technical information concerning the injection molding process.
  • Strong entrepreneurial, commercial judgment, planning and organizational skills. Established track record of identifying new business opportunities, value selling success and negotiation skills, and the proven ability to close new business in a highly technical marketplace.
  • Willingness to learn to sell new technology equipment as it is developed.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of the plastics packaging market (closures & containers) a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel within territory an average of 80% of the time.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
