The Director of Engineering will have responsibility to provide the visible, strong leadership required to manage the day to day operation of PEAK’ s client. The DoE will work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to clearly.
  • Document / improve the design and development process utilized at client.
  • Establish key metrics for monitoring and evaluating progress in the Engineering Department.
  • Work with Program Managers to monitor progress and budget performance for the programs.
  • Create development plans for all Managers and Engineers in the department to encourage continuous improvement, and create a weekly status reporting system to brief the COO and other members of the management team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The DoE will define the required processed to ensure the Engineering Department maintains a leading edge technical approach to all activities. The DoE will analyze the in-process and forecasted demands on the organization and implement plans to ensure the engineering group is adequately resourced with personnel and tools.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Department Leadership.
  • Clear and consistent, on the floor leader of the engineering team.
  • Plan and directs all aspects of the company engineering and research and development policies, objectives and initiatives.
  • Provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.
  • Lead the ADSI Engineering Management team.
  • Provide department support and administrative functions.
  • Process Monitoring.
  • Assure the effectiveness of the design process for Hardware Development, Software Design, and Systems testing and verification.
  • Identify and implement engineering process improvements.
  • Personnel Development.
  • Lead, direct and mentor engineering team managers and personnel.
  • Support in the recruiting of engineering department personnel.
  • Ensure that there are consistent, periodic activities in place that support and inform the engineering department personnel; including: department communication meetings; training in internal processes and procedures; and the organization of events that focus on team building.
  • Technical Proposal Support.
  • Define proposal technical approach and provide technical write-up; identify cost estimates for Sales Pricing.
  • Work with key engineers in group to author and publish “ White Papers” and Technical Articles.
  • Technical Support Organization.
  • Identify key personnel within the Engineering Organization that will provide technical support to other groups.
  • Provide for the on schedule, smooth and orderly transition of new designs, bill of materials and documentation to operations.
  • Provide on-call Technical Support for Customer Interactions/Questions
  • Failure and Problem Report Tracking.
  • Create systems to track the timely completion of internal failure analyses and corrective/preventative actions reports.
  • Summarize activities to conduct periodic analysis and monitoring for trends; recommend process improvements.

  • 10 - 15 years in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of Lead/ Management (or equivalent with related experience).
  • Knowledge of Circuit Board Design and the associated analyses a must.
  • Experience with design and analysis of products intended for Space applications is a plus.
  • Previous experience on NASA programs desirable.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or M.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
