EMI / EMC Design Specialist Description
EMI / EMC Design Specialist  with a strong background in design for EMI and power conversion  to support multiple aerospace programs.   This position is  located in Davenport, IA
  Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance in the design and development of systems and components with regards to Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) including boding/grounding/shielding schemes, basic power conversion, and harness/cable design.

  • Perform requirements development and decomposition. 

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Demonstrates a high degree of proficiency in discipline to indicate an ability to learn and learn quickly.

  • Provides assistance in estimating project task and schedules and provides other information to management for planning purposes.

  • Can translate system level specifications to module level specifications

  • Develops test plans for product verification. Assists test department and/or manufacturing for production test process/procedures creation.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in discipline to complete tasks independently.

  • Assists in the definition of test requirement for product integration, and/or transition to manufacturing phase.

  • Creates or adapts circuits to meet intended requirements.

  • Tests and troubleshoots circuits or Software as required.

  • Ensure product conforms to requirements by following established procedure and design standards.

  • Verifies items created or defined by developing and conducting tests to ensure specifications are met.

  • Ensures completion of all documentation required for production introduction and/or test tooling deployment.

  • Selects/specifies components as required.

  • Oversees product testing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Degree from a ABET accredited Engineering Program or related Technical or Scientific Field.

  • 5 or more years of experience designing for EMI.

  • Experience using computer-aided design tools.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Physics.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Math.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Circuit design.

  • Experience designing for EMI (MIL-STD 461).

  • Experienced with electronics and test equipment design.

  • Experience with electrical or electronic components.

  • Experience leading a team.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communications.

  • Previous experience with circuit simulations in SPICE.

  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory.
