PEAK is looking for an enterprise Head of Software Engineering Practice for our growing enterprise project solution client in New York. You will be responsible for developing and managing all aspects of our Web and Cloud practices. It’s a leadership role, which will be extremely customer-focused, doing Assessments and Solution architecture, growing consulting business. You will build a strong community of thought-leaders who are keen on helping our customers with building world-class web and cloud applications.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage web and cloud engineering practices

  • Be responsible for the P&L of the web and cloud engineering practices & manage the key KPIs to build a high growth consulting practice

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in a broad spectrum of technologies and drive pre-sales, SOW development and delivery. Identify market and client priorities and provide insight to Business Development and Client Services.

  • Drive and design solutions and offerings based on understanding clients’ business challenges, industry trends and what they need to achieve. Be able to articulate requirements for resources needed; assist with initial project mobilization and project delivery and fulfillment.

  • Build, lead and mentor consultants at all levels in their careers to create a strong community of engineers. Provide guidance and goal-setting to engineers and engineering leaders for their career growth and professional development

  • Take initiative to explore, evangelize, and represent company at events, conferences and speaking engagements that help increase our brand recognition and improve our Solution Architects' knowledge and aid our customers.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to develop, manage and implement modern talent acquisition strategies to increase headcount of Solution Architects. Partner with PeopleOps to improve retention. Grow business based on clearly defined quarterly and annual targets.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other Practice Leads in defining long-term organizational strategies, processes and roadmaps.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 12+ Years of application development and platform modernization experience, including cloud architecture with AWS or Azure, web applications development using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, microservices using Spring Boot, Kafka, solution architecture, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, security, DevOps, QA, containers, serverless, CI/CD, monitoring, cloud migration, digital transformation.

  • 5+ Years of consulting experience working closely with enterprise clients in their digital transformation journeys

  • 2+ Years of experience managing a consulting practice

  • Experience in defining business needs, guiding customers with their journey to the outcome of solution strategy aligned to their business outcomes and Products

  • Leading in Discovery exercises virtually or at customer sites, leading solution architecture discussions

  • Expert in creating detailed solution descriptions and architecture diagrams for presentations, proposals and implementation plans

  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud.

  • Strong executive presence with creative brainstorming skills, with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and technical teams

  • Thought-Leader with an entrepreneurial spirit that will make an imprint on culture, growth and brand.

  • Experience in providing strategic thinking, solutions and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations.

  • Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques, best practices and technology assistance.

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree

  • Location: NYC (Hybrid)
