Job Description


Position Objective

Provides project management and takes a leadership role for IT-related projects as well as provides end-user support by resolving reported technical problems. Provides information systems and technology support to all users. Responsible for all PC’s, printers, telecommunications, audiovisual equipment, and other IT-related issues. Provides leadership in user interactions and Help Desk operations.

 

Major Job Functions
  • Provides project management and takes proactive and leadership role in IT-related projects organizing and driving forward the projects
  • Drives superior levels of support response time, outstanding user satisfaction, and exceptional service quality.
  • Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming phone, voicemail, email, and in-person requests for assisting users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and networking issues.
  • Logs and tracks calls using problem management database and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
  • Assists users with desktop application usage and trains where required.
  • Monitors and responds to network security and virus threats.
  • Coordinates and deploys OS and application software upgrades in conjunction with corporate standards and regulations.
  • Provides support to user group and IT Staff on issues related to servers, network, and infrastructure. Interfaces directly with end-users to ensure complete resolution of issues.
  • Maintains and updates Corporate and Intranet Web sites including SharePoint sites.
  • Maintains network and telecom wiring.
  • Contacts software and hardware vendors for services, quotes, etc.
  • Creates and updates various documentations.
  • Maintains hardware and software inventory.
  • Participates in and performs various other IT-related assignments, projects, and tasks as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education, Licensure and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, and/or equivalent. 2+ years of progressive technical experience within a high technology environment.
  • Experience with and solid understanding of Windows 10, networking, Active Directory, TCP/IP, Domain Group Policy, batch or PowerShell scripts, security & audit tools, VPN, McAfee and Cybereason security products, backup and recovery software, Office 365, MS-Teams, IIS, SharePoint, routers, and switches.
  • Extensive experience managing projects in IT field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Project management certificates. IT-related certificates. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, J-SOX, and others. Experience with Cisco Meraki switches. Knowledge and experience with data science and Python programming language. Knowledge in ITIL and/or other frameworks. Experience working in life science field desirable.

 

Work Hours

 

Present and available at work for company’s regular business hours. Occasionally needs to work outside of office hours including early morning, late evening, and weekends.

 

Physical Job Requirements:

Required to be onsite to work in office/lab environment at multiple locations. Lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. Mandatory Covid-19 vaccination policy in effect.
