Inspector Rework Operator III works effectively with little supervision, performing multiple tasks. Performs inspections, checks, and tests for quality control for the manufacture of products.They must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of SMT soldering procedures and processes.

This position requires soldering under a microscope and the ability to alternate between responsibilities. The Inspector Rework Operator III must have a thorough knowledge of IPC 610 workmanship standards and the ability to implement them. They may be required to train junior operators.

The Inspector Rework Operator III assists with prototype assemblies and sub components. Individual must be able to independently access and follow production work instructions and other engineering documentation. Good computer and communication skills are essential. Individual will interact daily with production lead, peer groups, supervisor and engineers and participates in daily housecleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • General knowledge of SMT equipment and processes to include printing, placement, reflow and AOI.
  • Operate AOI equipment.
  • Able to read, understand and identify SMD components.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, pick lists, Bills of Materials, assembly drawings, work instructions and other engineering documents.
  • Proficiency in soldering fine pitch components and 0201 component packages.
  • Excellent and advanced solder skills; BGAs, CSP, Flip-Chips, etc.
  • Work with SMT Lead to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Work within an ESD sensitive environment.
  • Punctual.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain IPC 610 Certification as a Certified IPC Specialist (CIS).
  • A High School Diploma or GED certificate is desired.
  • 5+years’ experience soldering/ reworking and inspection experience.
  • Must be attentive to details and be quality driven.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be available for overtime.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills.
