Looking for a person with moderate experience who possesses the skills and abilities to develop technical project drawings under direction of Project managers or other senior staff.  Typical duties involve limited consultant coordination as required to prepare project construction documents.  

Technical drawing preparations of site plans, floor plans, elevations, wall sections, details, schedules and notations and dimensions of these plans.  Plotting of project drawings and preparation of project drawing sets for city submittals, client reviews, etc. as required to support the duties of Project Managers and other senior staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Based upon direction given by senior staff, develop to completion the technical drawings, tabulations, documents, and related services as required for the assigned project(s). 
  • This includes the actual drawing of detailed site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, building details and other aspects of the design and presentation process.  
  • Assist in the preparation of the drawings, sketches, and related documents to accurately represent the project to the client, approving agency, and contractor in sufficient detail to allow construction of the project.
  • During the construction document preparation processes, coordinate the work of other consultants as required to prepare accurate and complete contract drawings, documents, and specifications that allow the project to obtain building permits from the required administrative agencies.
  • Present, discuss, and receive technical input and direction from Senior PM, PM, and other senior staff on assigned projects / tasks.

Project Technical Drawing Preparation and Support:

  • During the construction document preparation processes, coordinate the work of other consultants as required to prepare accurate and complete contract drawings, documents, and specifications that allow the project to obtain building permits from the required administrative agencies. 

Technical Project Team Interaction:
  • Coordinate their project efforts with the other senior staff and members of the technical project team.
  • Assist senior staff in the scheduling of project, and individual tasks.
  • Present, discuss, and receive technical input and direction from Senior PM, PM, and other senior staff on assigned projects / tasks.

Personal Time Management:
  • Organize and prioritize individual project tasks, or multiple project tasks independently or in conjunction with Senior PM, PM, and other senior staff.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience is preferred to successfully perform this job. 
  • At minimum a one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
  • Associate’ s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Communication Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Additional Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be proficient in computer use and computer-aided design software.
  • Specific knowledge of the following programs is required: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Professional programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and others.
  • General knowledge of general office business computer systems and software.
  • Must possess exceptional scheduling, prioritization and coordination skills.

Client' s Desired Items:
  • Facility with Revit.
  • Mixed Use or Multi Family experience a plus, but not essential.
