Junior Buyer

Job Description
The Junior Buyer will be responsible for negotiating and procuring assigned materials, equipment, and supplies from approved suppliers. This position will rely on pre-established guidelines and instructions to perform the functions of the job.
- Interface with suppliers, engineers, and other departments.
- Process and execute purchase orders to ensure on time delivery.
- Manage purchase order confirmations and update ERP to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure procurement specifications, drawings, and supplemental info is properly transmitted to suppliers.
- Assess supplier performance for contracts and purchase orders.
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels within scope of procurement responsibilities.
- Expedite orders and provide status updates as required.
- Perform system maintenance within scope of responsibilities.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies as required.
- Proactively contact critical vendors to follow up on purchase orders ensure supply continuity.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Some College Preferred.
- One to two years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment using an ERP system.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook and ERP Software.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
