PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  • Responsible for all Cost Savings Activities
    • Communicate Plant and Corporate Level Tasks for all Suppliers
    • Ensure all cases are logged into Cost Savings Database and Smartsheet (as applicable)
  • Manage with “ Total Cost Methodology.”
    • Top Five Tooling Costs by Department
    • Bottleneck Analysis
    • Tool Life Improvement
    • Quality Improvements
    • Focused on Through-Put Improvements
  • Support the Key Account Manager in New Program Procurement.
  • Support Inventory Management optimization through  Plan-For-Every-Part (PFEP) Methodology
  • Manage Company  Metrics:
  • A/R Days Outstanding
  • Inventory Turns need to define rules
  • Open Orders
  • Profitability
  • Delivery
  • Cost Savings
  • Employee Action Deck
  • Manage assigned New Program Launches.
  • Ensure Cost Per Unit (CPU) reporting is completed and published each month
  • Work with manufacturers on Tooling improvements and problem resolution.
  • Attend/Present Plant Productivity meetings.
  • Vendor/Customer problem resolution.
  • Develop Professional Business Relationships with:
  • Area Managers
  • Manufacturing Managers
  • Manufacturer’ s Sales & Service
  • Plant Engineers/Managers
  • Production Personnel
  • Ensure Manufacturer Visit Statistics are maintained for all facilities
  • Support resolution of Customer Satisfaction Issues at all assigned facilities
  • Perform other miscellaneous activities as requested by Management.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in calculating and comprehending Manufacturing KPIs and Business Analytics

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidate must possess a Mechanical Engineering degree and a minimum of 5 years hands on experience in a Manufacturing environment with an emphasis on tool life management, machine up-time, work-holding, manufacturer communications and lean applications.
  • Familiarity with all types of cutting tools (drills, mills, reamers, etc.) and abrasive tools (grinding, honing, polishing, etc.)
  • Well rounded understanding of materials, surface finishes, and surface treatments
  • Ability to read and understand tooling and work piece blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis on Excel
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Certification of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing is desired
