The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design, analysis and testing of a product based on a concept or a customer defined requirement.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop new components and systems to support the company core product line.
  • Create product solutions using state of the art proven technology.
  • Implement improved product architecture and using modularity concepts whenever feasible.
  • Design for ease of maintainability, manufacturability, functionality and reliability.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and best practices into the design.
  • Review  aircraft integration and interface requirements early in the design process.
  • Perform detail design using Solidworks to generate 3D CAD models, design analysis and design validation using appropriate software and testing methods.
  • Develop test plans and test reports in support of the product development and design validation process to include Qualification and Acceptance Test Plans similarity reports, and other engineering documentation to support the qualification & certification of products per the applicable standards.
  • Develop and improve the design processes; create best practices & implementation across the projects.
  • Review design, and manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Conduct Research and Development with existing and new product development teams to create simple configuration management with the goal of reducing development and customization costs.
  • Devise and implement proof of concept prototype design validation test plans, conduct the tests; data collection and generate test reports to support the designs.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings and computer generated reports.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling, product data management and FE analysis.
  • Proficient in developing Test Procedures and Reports.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Management Process.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in product design and development.
  • Solidworks experience is required knowledge of CATIA is preferred.
  • Background in aerospace engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to verify structural acceptability of designs by testing prototypes for reliability and FAA certification.
  • Utilize engineering tools such as FMEAs, FEA, and DFMA to validate design content.
  • Familiarity with mechanical designs involving pressure,   fluids, airflow and thermal.
  • Familiarity with electrical design and systems integration.
