Job Description
Zachry Group is seeking Mechanical Engineer II responsible in the design office for routine engineering and design tasks of the process area of assigned projects based on specific and detailed instructions received from the assigned supervisor as to the required tasks and results expected.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for designing a complete project, system, component, and/or process with reduced oversight.
Responsible for developing process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams.
Responsible for interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles
Responsible for engineering and design tasks of the Mechanical/Process engineering discipline of assigned projects?.?Independently evaluates,?selects,?and applies standard engineering techniques,?procedures and criteria,?using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Evaluate processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, and to incorporate in technical specifications to be issued for procuring equipment and instruments.
Analyze problems and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.
Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
0-3 years' experience in mechanical engineering or other related field.

Strong desire to learn
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field
Proficiency with Gate Cycle Software
Licensed Professional Engineer
Agriculture Processing Experience in Vegetable Oils/Fat and/or Fermentation
Experience and/or education focus in the Energy/Chemical and/or Food and Beverage Industry sectors
Physical demands
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems.
Position will include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.
Work environment
Employee will work in multiple environments including an office, warehouse, and trailer or building on construction sites.
On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells, whistles and alarms
Salary: $60,000.00- $90,000.00/Year
