Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing software control programs for multi-million dollar precision automated capital equipment for the semiconductor or medical industries. 
  • Code is designed to meet specific customer and project requirements including precision, accuracy and throughput.
  • Estimate project hours, design, program, and test PLC control systems and HMIs.
  • Programming assignments may involve PLC’ s, PC’ s, robotics, vision systems, and other controllers.
  • Participates in the evaluation of new software operating systems, development tools, and supports testing and evaluation of new hardware systems.
  • Develop software components for modularity and reuse. 
  • Define interfaces between s/w components.
  • Work with design team to select PLC hardware components.
  • Develop communication interfaces to Ethernet, serial, USB, and other devices.
  • Configure PLC and PC hardware such as Ethernet/IP I/O, SoftLogix PLCs, Transaction Manager, SqlServer, and general Windows OS Configuration.
  • Support start up and troubleshooting of the automation equipment.
  • Support PLC software for systems in the field through remote access or as a part of an installation/ service team.

  • Bachelor' s degree or equivalent  in Engineering, Computer Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of ControlLogix 5000 experience and demonstrated proficiency.
  • Minimum 5 years experience writing software for complex automation systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel (Up to 50%), (Must have a Passport).
  • Highly creative individual able to solve complex problems using well developed programming skills and a systematic approach.

Required Skills:
  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix, SoftLogix, RSLinx, RSView, Transaction Manager.
  • Windows OS setup and configuration.
  • Designs and documents system logic to achieve optimum machine performance and fully plans and documents all code interfaces.
  • Writes code that is modular and strongly structured for ease of maintenance and efficient re-use and incorporates built in debugging features that allow efficient troubleshooting and verification testing of software.
  • Continuously tests each code sub-component and the final project code, fixes bugs, makes code changes during tool testing and documents changes.
  • Experience with Machine Startup.
  • SQL Server installation and configuration.
  • Multi-axis control.
  • Experience with VB, C, C++ and/or C#.
  • Experience using OPC interfaces between Allen Bradley and other vendors.
  • Customer interaction.
  • Work well in multinational Engineering & Field Service Teams environment.
