Position Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical experience at a company responsible for plant and process design and engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidentiality and non-compete agreement.
  • Knowledge of packaged process equipment utilizing pumps, valves, instrumentation and controls.
  • Problem solving thinking, ability to plan and time management skills.
  • Knowledge in hydraulic and fluid dynamics, mass transfer, metal corrosion, materials selection, and thermodynamics are a plus.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Expert level required in: Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).
  • Ability to author technical papers and present them at conferences from time to time.

  • Review client’ s problems and propose solutions that utilize company technologies.
  • Review proposals to ensure client’ s needs are addressed from a process engineering perspective.
  • Prepare PFD diagrams complete with mass balance tables.
  • Review process engineering documentation (e.g. P&IDs) on sold projects to ensure we are meeting our contractual requirements.
  • Perform process engineering studies to confirm proper application of our technologies for future and current work, including devising pilot test programs and prototypes.
  • Write pilot test and/or project startup protocols.
  • Perform Project Startups and/or Pilot testing onsite.
  • Review raw data from field or laboratory testing and write reports of findings.
  • Write articles which can be published in technical journals or presented at technical conferences.
  • Compile information for case studies which can be the basis for collateral material for marketing purposes.
  • Participate in product improvement studies.
  • Provide Applications Engineering help to the Sales Department by creating product sizing spreadsheets which automatically output equipment sizing information with minimal input.
  • Attend HAZOP reviews at client locations and represent the company as required.
  • As part of the technical staff, play a key role in supporting all issues of a technical nature, including as required for research and development and any other initiatives involving innovation.
