Program Manager Lead Technical

Manages the development and implementation process of the company' s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.

Characteristics / Scope:

As a level in the professional track, work is accomplished through independent contributions or project work requiring advanced subject area knowledge and decision-making skills.

Will be working independently and within groups to assist with product and program launches and builds. Experience in automotive or manufacturing environment would be ideal. Background with engineering or supplier quality preferred. Will be required to identify risk for leadership within supply base and parts.

Fully proficient in applying established standards, resolving a wide range of complex problems of diverse scope in innovative ways, including problems where precedent may not exist. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience, with a full understanding of area of specialization. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Demonstrates good verbal and written presentation skills, and is comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership.

Normally works independently. Receives minimal guidance, little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments. May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience.

Position Requirements:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Heavy work in Excel is expected/required.
  • PM certification preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with APQP and PPAP required.
  • Experience with G8D or similar issue resolution process is required.
  • Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of technical project/program management experience or at least 7 years of technical project/program management experience.

Additional Information:
  • Expected travel is 25-50%.
  • US/Mexico/Canada expected.
