Project/Program Manager for Construction
Must be able to travel/work in China
Must have Project/Program Management experience
Either Electrical or Mechanical or Architectural technical background.
Experience working a $30 Million + Construction project thru completion
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates development, submission and tracking of Facilities plan review comments on construction projects impacting existing or creating new Facilities maintained assets. Performs shop drawing review and construction observation to ensure Facilities plan comments are being implemented. Attends project meetings and represents Facilities interests. Organizes and establishes effective project management of Facilities projects; coordinates and manages design decisions and procurement/construction document production. Effectively manages changes in Facilities projects; eliminates interface disruptions between project participants; maintains and, where possible, improves the Project schedule and budget; and insures quality design and construction work. Establishes and maintains a competent and experienced staff; implements efficient and timely document control for plan review and project management process.
Reviews design and construction documents for impacts to Facilities maintained assets. Coordinates collection of plan comments from other Facilities reviewers and prepares summary document for submission to project team. Tracks implementation of comments in future plans and attends plan review meetings to represent Facilities’ interests.
Performs shop drawing review and construction observation on projects creating new or impacting existing Facilities managed assets. Coordinates and documents comments from other Facilities reviewers; prepares summary for submission to project team.
Works with the Assistant Director to identify Facilities projects which will be managed by Projects, Permitting and Show Quality team members. Prioritizes and assigns identified projects to Project Managers and reviews and oversees project implementation. Assists with development of project budgets, funding sources and schedules.
Assists with review and preparation of procurement and construction documents for Facilities generated projects including construction drawings, construction specifications, Scopes of Work, and General Conditions. Establishes format, prepares and updates Facilities related standard specifications for incorporation into all construction projects. Establishes and maintains file location for all Facilities standard specifications and provides access for project development teams. Creates and updates standard operating procedure and workflow for the development, review and submittal of procurement Scopes of Work by Facilities coordinators. Implements and oversees scope writing training program and recommends additional training for coordinators to improve scope writing skills.
SCOPE: Responsible for program development, project management, and strategic financial strategies for the division.
EDUCATION: High School Degree or GED is required. Associates degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school is required. Bachelor of Science in engineering, architecture or construction management is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ Years: Experience working in a review or oversight capacity with commercial construction projects; experience with project management; general experience with estimating, budgeting, bidding and scheduling; field experience dealing with all aspects of projects required; experience working in theme park and resort projects is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in reading and interpreting shop drawings, engineering plans and specifications.
Experience with generating standard operating procedures and training documents
Experience with developing standard specifications and construction documents.
Possess financial and performance analytical skills.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with a diverse workforce
