Senior Electrical Engineer
Charlotte, NC 28204 US
Job Description
Position/Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Type: Direct
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Division: MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)
Relocation Assistance (non-local): Yes
Work Schedule: Hybrid
Experienced Electrical Engineer:
- Electrical engineer or designer with 10+ years of experience in design of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, photometrics for commercial, institutional, industrial, and/or healthcare buildings. We will talk with candidates that have much more or slightly less experience beyond this 10+ years range.
- The majority of this candidate’s experience should be working in an engineering office that designs electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, photometrics, heating, air conditioning, and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and/or healthcare buildings.
- This position will be associated with electrical engineering project design and management; providing guidance and being a mentor to electrical engineers of lesser experience; meeting and communicating with clients; providing quality control reviews of electrical drawings; conducting site inspections; and editing book specifications. This person must also be in good enough physical condition to perform site inspections and possibly commissioning when needed. Overnight travel is very minimal.
- Experience using AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit is a plus.
- An additional characteristic we look for is length(s) of previous engagements. To us, multiple short-term engagements are indicators of possible inability to get along well with others and/or failure to provide quality work that employers require. We look for people who show the ability to stay with firms for extended periods of time as it is an indicator of their likelihood to stay with us.
Benefits Include the Following:
- We offer two weeks of vacation (Paid Time Off) per year at the start of employment, with three weeks’ vacation after 5 years, and four weeks’ vacation after 10 years with the company.
- In addition to personal vacation, the company observes paid annual holidays. These currently include New Year’s Day, Good Friday (or as an option – Easter Monday), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. In the event a holiday falls on a weekend day, we will take either the preceding Friday or the following Monday as we decide collectively. We also offer one “floating” holiday to each staff member to be used at each employee’s discretion, for example, birthday, anniversary, Veteran’s Day, etc., for a total of 10 paid holidays.
- We also offer medical insurance. This coverage is for medical, vision, and dental insurance, and is paid for by the company as a benefit.
- In addition, we offer both short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage at no cost to the employee.
- We also offer a Simple IRA (SIRA) investment option where the company will match up to 3% of your salary.
- We are on a hybrid work schedule. We are currently in the office on Wednesdays and remote the rest of the week. We may expand to up to three days in the office in the future.
- We will pay relocation expenses.
