Seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to work remotely in Texas from either Austin or Houston.

Focus of Role:
  • Work with sales and marketing to define strategic customer opportunities in the Texas territory.
  • Conduct extensive laboratory testing and characterization of reference platforms and assist with the transfer of designs to external customers for evaluation and production.
  • Review customer board designs and assist in their evaluation.
  • Provide field trial support.
  • Manage customer programs thru designs cycles: prototype, EVT, PVT, pre-production, and mass production.
  • Gather information about new product features needed to help define roadmap.
  • Customer demonstrations of evaluation platforms.
  • Present roadmap and technical specifications to internal and external strategic customers.
  • Define the feasibility of customer requests.
  • Prioritize efforts based on urgency and opportunity size.
  • Provide support to FAEs from other regions as needed.
  • Help sales management understand and prioritize requests coming in from strategic customers.
  • Drive activity across engineering functions in support of strategic customers.
  • Provide management with regular updates on business outlook based on design stage and activities.
  • Work with strategic customers to refine their own specs based on product knowledge and understanding.
  • Support technical product training to other FAEs on Company products.

Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of RMGII and SGMII interfaces.
  • Experience analyzing data in Excel is a must.
  • Experience with RF, Mixed Signal, Digital and Analog Field specific software with CAD, Unix, and C++.
  • Experience using the following tools: spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and signal analyzers.
  • Hands-on experience in schematic, layout, and IC debug.
  • Experience on discrete DC/DC and AC/DC layout debug and PMIC design.
  • Hands on experience working with Taiwanese companies and an understanding of Taiwanese work culture (Mandarin speaking a plus).
  • Knowledge of semiconductor business practices including design-in process.
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Systems, or related and 5 years of experience or MS degree with 1 year of experience.
