JOB SUMMARY

Develop embedded software for thermal management, ammunition handling systems, weapon scoring systems, and aeromechanical systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Translate functional and interface design specifications into source code.
  • Implement embedded application and device driver software.
  • Perform requirements-based testing
  • Develop application simulators to support test and integration.
  • Provide engineering support for in-house and field integration and testing.
  • Software version control and release

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BSCS/BSEE) with 2+ years related experience.

 

2-4 years experience implementing, testing and debugging embedded real-time software in C/C++. Experience in common communication interfaces such as SPI, UART, Ethernet, I2C and CAN. Experience with version control and application life cycle model tools. Proficient in using test tools such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes. Experience using and developing test suites for National Instruments LabView and Test Stand is a plus.  

 

Ideal candidate is an open-minded team player who cooperates with colleagues as required. May work independently but will also have interactions with fellow engineers and members from other departments.  Responsible for reviewing software requirements, design, and test documentation which requires the ability to critique in a constructive manner. Should be capable to work individually and independently and under time pressure.  

 

TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB

MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Perforce, Solid Works Workgroup PDM, National Instruments Test Stand, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, emulators, telephone, and copier.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS   

Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking.  Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move/lift objects and occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move/lift objects. Extensive sitting at desk reading computer screen is required.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, reach or walk.  This position requires that the employee be able to hear and speak clearly. Ability to work under time pressure is necessary.  Willingness to work long hours if required.  Ability to work independently and as a team player

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Work usually performed in air-conditioned office environment.  Some work will occasionally be performed in the shop.  Shop environment contains hazardous materials, dust, moving equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, and metal chips from cutting, milling, drilling and turning operations.  Employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.

 

Must be eligible to obtain DoD Security Clearance and be a US Citizen

 

MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED (proof of vaccination status will be required).

 
Salary: $84,500.00- $140,800.00/Year
