Job Description
SUMMARY: As a Senior Marketing Manager, you will have direct ownership in developing new and enhancing existing products that strengthen the equity of our brand in alignment with our core business objectives. You will lead all upstream marketing activities for the company portfolio. Sr. Marketing Manager will be accountable for establishing product strategies, developing, and executing corresponding marketing plans, planning, coordinating, and executing the launch of new products to achieve business performance targets. You will also be responsible for planning, development and implementation of marketing communications and public relations, both external and internal for NPD and ongoing business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Marketing
- Direct ownership and leadership of upstream marketing activities for assigned products.
- Identify new product opportunities, prioritize various product opportunities, and drive alignment across the organization. Identify product gaps and update product/feature requests. Develop strategies for assigned products.
- Expert in products, customers, customer needs, market trends.
- Perform analysis for opportunity assessment and scenario modeling.
- Represent marketing during the product development process, ensuring that products meet global customer needs.
- Gather and test market requirements through market research team.
- Help lead product launch process in collaboration with R&D and other cross-functional teams.
- Spend significant time in the field (20-30%) with sales personnel, customers and industry conferences to understand market stakeholder needs, ideas, and to stay at the forefront of market dynamics and trends.
- Support post-market surveillance.
- Translate business strategies into structured marketing and tactical plans and actions with measurable metrics.
- Develop and execute successful go-to-market strategies and plans for new launches and drive post-launch initiatives to achieve market share and revenue goals.
- Drive segmentation, targeting, positioning, benefits, messaging, pricing, branding, and collateral to support innovation and launches.
- Passionate about contractor/technician centric product design
- In partnership with Market Research team,
- Plan and conduct voice of customer (VOC) and validate data to drive decisions on development of product plans and identification of new opportunities.
- Conduct various interviews, including beta testing interviews and post-engagement customer surveys to identify trends and make recommendations.
- Conduct marketing surveys on current and new service concepts.
- Anticipate, monitor, and respond to competitive marketing initiatives.
- Responsible for all aspects of projects including meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, approval procedures, budgeting, campaign analysis, and tracking/ monitoring procedures
- Establish and articulate project scope, strategy and objectives to internal clients, production team and key leadership
- Oversee creative production of online and offline marketing assets, graphic design, video production and web from the initial concept to finished product and execution
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required. MBA preferred. Years of experience can be substitute for the education.
- 10-15+ years required of progressive marketing experience in related field or equivalent.
- Experience in developing and launching new products.
- Experience with product lifecycle management.
- Experience working with customers, commercial teams, outside sales reps and distributors.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and customer requirements
