The Senior C/S Engineer will oversee the civil structural component of engineering projects and is responsible for managing and leading complex engineering and design. This position will be tasked with developing productive business relationships with customers and ensuring projects are completed to Zachry’s standards of quality and efficiency with the objective of exceeding customers’ expectations.
Serve as the technical project lead for site layout/design activities.
Application of structural design and analysis of concrete and steel structures using appropriate design codes
Application of natural phenomena loading on structures (ex. Seismic, wind, tornado, hurricane)
Knowledge and application of soil mechanics to determine soil loading on structures and structural settlement analysis
Developing engineering calculations and specifications
Preparation of test reports and assisting with qualification reports
Support engineering procurement efforts
Create design models and detailed drawings using CAD software and other design methods
Use of civil structural analysis programs (e.g., STAAD, RISA, GTSTRUDL, SAP, etc.)
Generally work in a team environment, but the ability to work independently is required
Must maintain active status in a drug and/or alcohol testing consortium
Other duties as assigned.
Engineering Degree (Civil/Structural)
15 years experience in civil/structural analysis and design
Civil Engineer with strong technical leadership and project engineering experience
Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely written and verbal communication
Experience in application of natural phenomena loads on structures
Strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Travel (<50%) domestic to client site.
US Citizen, no dual citizenship
Ability to obtain security clearance if required
Knowledge of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) standards (as applicable to structural design and analysis)
Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) code
Knowledge of American Concrete Institute (ACI) code (as applicable to structural design and analysis)
Experience performing seismic analysis of structures, tanks, piping using response spectra or time history response analysis methods
Experience with structural analysis programs (ex. STAAD, RISA, GTSTRUDL, SAP)
Experience performing impact and impulsive loading analyses
Registered Professional Engineer
Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.
Work will be in a general office environment operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Occasionally required to work in an industrial location where noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.
Job Pay Rate: $50.00- $75.00/Hour
