Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design new, or modifications to, telecommunication structures and related infrastructure, (Monopole towers, lattice towers, guyed towers, roof-top or wall-mounted related structures).
  • Analyze existing telecom tower/building structures for applied external loads and determine internal forces, stresses, and capacities.
  • Make judgments regarding the integrity of these structures and convey these results to appropriate team members and/or clients.
  • Prepare comprehensive design calculations and report packages.
  • Communicate decisions to clients, coworkers, architects, engineers, and other personnel in a clear, comprehensible manner.
  • Assume responsible charge of the design of various projects and assist with their design/implementation.
  • Oversee designs and/or calculations prepared by other team staff members.
  • Oversee drawing production and ensure engineered decisions are properly depicted.
  • Provide consultation to staff and/or clients regarding construction practices, permitting processes, design requirements, cost estimates, and other project concerns.
  • Perform site visits/field investigations to gather information or provide consultation to clients.
  • This position might involve limited traveling.

  • Must have an SE  in the State of Illinois.
  • Proficient knowledge of the general practice of structural engineering and the various building codes/standards currently in use.
  • Telecommunication experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams or committees.
  • Ability to make sound engineering judgments and justify them coherently and professionally to clients and co-workers.
  • Experience with RISA 3D and Enercalc design software. proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.
