  • The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with platforms and mission applications for intelligence and defense customers with domain emphasis on Geospatial Intelligence, Computers, Intelligence, and Mission Management using data center virtualization and Amazon cloud technologies. The qualified candidate will support systems engineering for an enterprise system of complex software services and frameworks in both the C2S and virtualized data center environment.
  • The Systems Engineers work with our customers and other segments to define new requirements and Concepts of Operations (ConOps) for an enterprise intelligence content management system. Systems Engineers assess customer-driven Requests for Change (RFC) and lead and/or contribute to Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, to include creation of Basis of Estimates (BOE) and proposal Technical Volume.  Systems Engineers perform requirements analysis, decomposition and derivation, work with Software Architects to define Concepts of Operations that will support emerging functional capabilities, define required parameters and data formats for ingest, discovery and delivery services, as well as supporting Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with customers and other programs. Presentation packages are developed to communicate concepts, ConOps, requirements and potential architectures to the customers, other segments and development teams.  They follow the M868 requirements during development across implementation and integration teams to ensure that the development converges on a coherent and unified system. The M868 Systems engineers provide assistance to the test team in the development of program level test cases, as well as developing ICDs, training materials for the M868 systems operators and other architectural drawings and presentation materials.



Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience


Required Skills and Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical discipline and 10+ years related experience
  • US Citizenship with an active Secret security clearance and ability to be granted a TS/SCI security clearance by the Federal Government
  • Familiarity with Geospatial Intelligence domains, practices and procedures
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment
  • Experience with the proposal writing process and methodologies
  • Knowledge of Systems engineering activities, processes, and methodologies (Agile, waterfall, etc.)
  • Experience with requirements development, requirements management systems, system design of complex systems, incorporating new designs and systems into existing platforms and developing technical documentation
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, users, and contractors from the DoD communities


Preferred Skills and Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Project milestones and technical review experience
  • Familiarity with virtual data center and/or Cloud computing environments and services such as AWS
  • Familiarity with open service based architectures 
  • Experience establishing and working with Agile teams
  • Proficiency with Agile management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
